As we wrap up our series, “The Leap,” today we dive into a powerful conclusion “Heaven’s Freefall.”
Our passage comes from Hebrews 11:32-40, where we find a hall of fame for faith—heroes who leaped into the unknown, trusting God with their futures, even when they couldn’t see the landing.
Just like those heroes of faith, we are called to take daring leaps, embracing the unknown with trust and courage.

Today, we are continuing our series called “The Leap,” and our focus is on “Chains and Great Escapes.” Our scripture comes from Acts 16:16-34, where we witness Paul and Silas in an incredible predicament, bound in chains but ultimately breaking free through faith. To further bring this story to life, we will visit with legendary escapologist, Harry Houdini—an expert at turning impossible situations into remarkable escapes. It will be a great day – get ready to break a few chains and make a great escape!

Today, we continue our series called “The Leap,” and our second message is titled “Flames and Tightropes.” Last week we ‘revved the engines on faith’ and began to explore the importance of taking a leap of faith. This week, we start getting into the specifics of what to expect and what a leap of faith can look like. Each week we have featured a daredevil as a way to illustrate some faith lessons. Last week it was Evel Knievel and we learned that faith might seem crazy to some, until you stick the landing. This week we discover that there is always an element of risk involved and we slide out onto the high wire with Nik Wallenda. It will be fun, life changing, and practical – let’s get started!

Welcome to a brand new Celebration Worship series here at The Church @ 434. It is entitled – The Leap, Daring to Trust God (Completely). Over the next few weeks we are going to discover that one small step for each of us can lead to one giant leap of faith. This series challenges believers to stop playing it safe and start living a faith that dares to believe, risk, and commit—just like the heroes of Scripture and we illustrate these ideas with some of the daredevils of history.
Today we begin and Rev the Engine of Faith. We explore Genesis 12:1–9, the calling of Abram and are reminded that God has called each of us. And we will mention, Evel Knievel – The fearless motorcycle jumper who launched into the unknown, often without knowing if he’d land safely. Sometimes when we rev the engines of faith and take off, we aren’t sure how the landing is going to go. But we find it is worth the risk when God calls us! Get ready to take The Leap!
