A Passionate Adventure
Multi-media Worship > Worship Live - Audio/Video
Posted by Rev. Jeff Dixon, Senior Equipping Minister, Covenant Community Church on May 4, 2008, 20:37
The snapshot we get of this moment in Scripture is stunning!

We may have read it before, perhaps heard a Bible Study on it before, maybe we have even read a commentator try to explain it, but have we really understood what is happening in this moment?

This is a moment where we see Jesus in a passionate response that will teach us about the adventure of faith we are created to live. Perhaps this would be a good time to revisit this story again and hear it clearly for the very first time.

Being Religious is not Good Enough - Even If You Are Good At It!

Religion and religious people can be found easily. All you have to do is look around. Even people who claim they don't believe in God will religiously hold on to that belief until it becomes their religion as well. It doesn't matter how hard people try not to become religious, they tend to mindlessly flock religiously to the very thing, the thought, the feeling, or the philosophy of their choosing. Then incorrectly thinking they are not religious blantanly blast organized religion as being bad or evil.

It all gets very confusing and sounds a bit silly doesn't it?

In this celebration worship event we jump headfirst into why the call to follow Jesus and the invitation to know Jesus is anything but religious. We explore why so few people really discover who Jesus is and live the life He has created for them to live. This is a study that will challenge you and force you to confront who you really are.

How Many People Does It Take to Change a DIM Light Bulb?

Change...
Change is such an amazing word. People talk about, people say they want it, people say they like to see it, and yes...sometimes people boldly declare they are "ready for change!"

The problem comes along when people begin to figure out that change, real change, is not as easy or as quick as they might have desired. Spiritual transformation and change doesn't happen quickly for most. So how is that we move from shining dimly for Jesus to shining brightly for Him? How does the dim become brighter? How can real change happen within us?

This is the theme of this important time of celebration worship...join us, it might be the first step on the road to change.

Since Light Travels Faster Than Sound, People Appear Bright... Until You Hear Them Speak!

Jesus instructed His followers to be "salt and light"

If we are going to be salt and light then we will become the bright spots in the darkness and will add zest to the blandness of existence. Sadly, when the culture thinks of Jesus Followers they don't usually think of salt and light...yet, if we were to get serious about doing what Jesus said, all heaven might break loose around us.

In this fun and fast paced celebration worship experience you have the chance to be reminded of what Jesus did and what we are called to do.

I Am Legend

I Am Legend is an interesting film that weaves together a frightening story. Here is the storyline in a nutshell. After a cancer cure mutates into a plague, Dr. Robert Neville finds himself the only person left in New York City, and perhaps in the entire world. Something in his blood has granted him immunity from the disease that turns people into what appears to be sub-human, aggressive, violent killers. Neville's only protection is his fortified bunker, and the sunlight -- which drives back the hordes until nightfall.

Will Dr. Neville be able to craft a cure from his own blood before those plagued by disease develop the ability to walk abroad in the day? What does it cost to save humanity? Is Neville willing to pay? I Am Legend, starring Will Smith, is one of the most thought-provoking films released during the past year. This morning in Celebration Worship we will illustrate some thought provoking moments from this motion picture. Be warned, the film is an intense bit of storytelling. In this experience it will help you look at how to face life when all hope seems lost, when all of the security you thought you had is ripped away, and when you are overwhelmed by the situations and circumstances of life.

Now this is a heavy topic but for many a neccessary and timely topic as well. Together on-line we will discover or rediscover some things that can change our perspective, change our focus, and change our lives.

Can You Believe These Prices?

Each and every person realizes that they could use a little bit of help. We live in a world where prices are too high, there is too much pressure, too many demands, and too much stress. It sure would be nice if we could find just a little help and a little hope in the midst of living life!

Then along comes the people who know God saying that He gives us help and hope. Silently in our hearts we think to ourselves, "How can I tap into that help and hope? I must be missing something!"

In this celebration worship experience we take a look at a passage that might just revolutionize your journey of faith. There is help and there is hope and it comes from God...and that is great news!

It is safe to say that people know that life throws unexpected curves, situations, and events in each of our paths. Things just go wrong sometimes.

However, how we react to and deal with life says much about who we are and how we relate to Jesus. One of the most damaging ways we tank our lives is by spending too much effort wrapped up in worrying. That is the focus of this celebration worship experience.

What do you do?
How can you learn not make situations and life even more stressful by choosing to worry?

Trust us at CCC...this will be fun and is nothing to worry about!
