Is Sharing Your Faith Important?
Posted by Rev. Jeff Dixon, Senior Equipping Minister at Covenant Community Church on Sep 1, 2000, 19:22

Yes, it really is, but I don't think it is as easy as everyone might want to tell you it is. Now there are a number of reasons that it is tough, let me list a few for you.

Reason One: Pride

Pride is a problem for most of us because we don't want to be considered a fanatic. That is a shame, because what it means is that we are more concerned with what other people think about us more than we are about what Jesus thinks about us.

Reson Two: Failure

We are afraid. Maybe you don't wand to admid it, but failure is something that scares us. We worry about..."What if they say no" or "What if they yawn?" We just don't want to foof up!

Reason Three: We think that people don't want to hear!

Which isn't true, by the way. If those are a few of the reasons then let me respond briefly. First, remember it doesn't matter what people think, it only matters what God thinks of you and He love you! Second, we are called to be obedient. Obedience is waht makes you successful. Always remember that witnessing isn't leading people to Christ, it is pointing people toward Him. Third, I feel that the world is waiting and needs to hear a real "caring, compassoinate witness for Christ."

So Share you faith, it may not be easy, but you will be blessed and you will be taking another step toward becoming what God wants you to be.
