Vision...Got to Have It!

A couple of more

Lets wrap up our close look at the things that vision looks like today with the following two characteristics....

VISION IS PEOPLE-ORIENTED

God is not a task-oriented ruler. He created people. He loves people. He sent His Son to die for the sins of people. He designed the church as a means for people to love others and to love Him.

In light of that, His vision for you will focus on how you can change the lives of people. The vision also will reflect the highest value that can be achieved by man: a deeper relationship with God. As you think about your vision , ask whether it really centers on the importance of people’s growth of faith and involvement with God. If the vision reflects any other bias, it is not from God.

His vision for your ministry is the avenue through which you can facilitate personal spiritual growth among people. You and then using you to touch and change the lives of others!

VISION REVEALS A PROMISING FUTURE

Vision may awaken many other emotions within us, such as:

Relief over having a viable purpose on earth.

Joy over the realization that God can use us.

Confidence based on the notion that He will bless our faithfulness to His call.

Anticipation over the desire to see how the vision will look in practice and what impact it will have on people’s lives.

Hope for the future, based on the recognition that He is in control and that we are truly on the winning side.

Passion to return to Him a measure of the love He has demonstrated by counting us worthy of His mercy, adequate to be part of His team and destined to see Him prevail.

Research consistently reveals that people in America want to make a difference in the world. For all their selfish tendencies and inward-looking practices, they want their lives to count for something of lasting value. The means to that end is loving and serving God. And the surest avenue to effectively growing that relationship is to capture His vision and live it to the fullest.
