Duh... About being thankful...
Posted by Rev. Jeff Dixon, Senior Equipping Minister at Covenant Community Church on Jan 2, 2002, 13:29

Here is a little quiz for you to take. Don’t spend too much time on it, just go from the heart. Use the first answer that pops into your head and see how well you do. Are you ready? Begin.

1) How many birthdays does the average man have?
2) A woman gives a beggar 50 cents; the woman is the beggar’s sister, but the beggar is not the woman’s brother. How come?
3) Is it legal for a man in California to marry his widow’s sister? Why?
4) Two men play five games of checkers. Each man wins the same number of games. There are no ties. Explain this.
5) A doctor gives you three pills, telling you to take one every half hour. How long will the pills last?
6) What was the President’s name in 1960?
7) You are driving a train eastbound on a railroad track at 60 mph. You travel for 30 minutes and pick up 10 passengers. Thirty minutes later all but three passengers get off the train. What is the engineer’s name?

This quiz is probably similar to others you may have taken before. Each question is a question that is easily answered if you take the time to really read the question. If you get in a hurry then there is a great risk that you are not going to be accurate when you answer. We have reached that time of year where the mad holiday rush is ready to begin. First up on the list is Thanksgiving. Usually people are in agreement about the fact that we all have much to be thankful for. But I would suggest that if you get in too big of a hurry and don’t take the time to really think about it, you might not be as accurate when compiling your list of things to be thankful for. That is my thanksgiving advice…take some time this year and honestly look at your life…then take the time to thank the Heavenly Father for all He has done for you.

Here are the answers to the questions:
1) One a year.
2) The beggar is the woman’s sister.
3) No-the man would be dead.
4) They are not playing each other.
5) One hour. You take the first pill, then a half hour later you take the second one, then an hour after taking the first one, you take the third pill.
6) George W. Bush (he was alive in 1960 wasn’t he?)
7) Whatever your name is. You are driving the train.

See, I told you the answers were easy, if you take you time. Take the time to be thankful. Of all the things I am thankful for, I am thankful to the Father for allowing me to be a part of your lives.
