Awkward Reasons

Awkward Christian Soldiers

Here it is....something old that gets recycled every so often, but it does make a point. The following shows up in church bulletins and newsletters. If you haven't seen it before, here it goes...

Everybody has a good excuse for not attending church. If you take those excuses and apply them to other things we do (or donít do), like eating, they might look like this list.

I donít eat any more because

I was forced to eat as a child.
People who eat all the time are hypocrites; they arenít really hungry.
There are so many different kinds of food, I canít decide what to eat.
I used to eat, but I got bored and stopped.
I only eat on special occasions, like Christmas and Easter.
None of my friends will eat with me.
Iíll start eating when I get older.
I donít really have time to eat.
I donít believe that eating does anybody any good. Itís just a crutch.
Restaurants and grocery stores are only after your money.

Giving a lame excuse for not attending church or for not getting involved in ministry is just as silly as giving up eating. Church attendance for the Christian is as important as regular, balanced meals. Without spiritual food, we will die. (1 Peter 2:2)
