Awkward Christian Soldiers

We end the week with some more of the bloopers that happen in church publications or church announcements....

Before we begin the list check out the CCC website for the latest devotion related to our series called Momentum. You find it on the lead page of our website. You will also find a new Bible Study on-line as well as some stories in our Sermon Illustration section....take a look and see what you can find....

Here they are...found in church bulletins

Helen White has been taken seriously. She is in Seaside Hospital.

The Spring Council retreat will be hell on May 10-11

The correspondence committee will assist with the mailing of the newsletter and the stapling of the Annual Report to congregational messengers (Isn't that just like committee work?)

There will be a congregational meeting after the morning worship to approve next years budget. Please plan not to attend. (A way to get the new budget passed, hopefully it didn't include a raise for the person who typed it)

Sunday we will  hold a service at which we will also install our new and old leadership and deceive new members. (I guess some churches deceive them and receive them i the same meeting)

Finally....

Jamie Elliot, president, opened the meeting with a poem. The Lord's Prayer was then read and approved.

Again...mistakes are easy to make. One of the things that happens when we make mistakes is that we become reluctant to try again. As we said yesterday, we all make mistakes, but when it comes to be obedient for Christ, there are going to be moments that we just don't do it exactly right. We can react one of two ways...we can quit because we failed, or we can remember that Jesus paid a high price to forgive us those failures...and we can try again.

My prayer for you is that you wound never quit trying to be all that God has called you to be. Have a great weekend

The adventure continues....
