Welcome to Crazy University!!!
Sometimes it seems as if we live in a Crazy World!
So much that happens is beyond my control and I can't do a lot about the circumstances that swirl around me. Now you can "call me crazy" but I think who I am as a follower means that I will face the world differently.
Call me crazy. I honestly don't even know where that phrase comes from but I hear people say it all the time. Here is what I am thinking. . .When you obey the promptings of the Holy Spirit life gets crazy. Crazy good.
I read an email from someone who thought they were crazy for sending it, but I love what they said: "I would rather be obedient and appear crazy than to ignore the promptings of the Holy Spirit."
The timing of the email was simply amazing. God began to conceive a new vision in my spirit yesterday and this email was like the other half of the jigsaw puzzle piece. It fit perfectly. And the amazing thing is that I've never met this person. That's crazy! Crazy good.
So welcome to a new series here at CCC. It is called Crazy University. We are going to get our spiritual degrees in how to deal with the craziness that surrounds us all from time to time. Here is the cool part...when you are done going to CU then people will CU (See you) differently.
Not sure exactly what God is up too, but I can't wait to see where God takes this.
All I know is this, if you obey the promptings of the Holy Spirit your life will be anything but boring! Call me crazy but let's get ready to go to school at Crazy University over the next few weeks.
Session One CU Calm (John 14:1-6)
CU Calm - Crazy University Week 1 In this celebration worship experience we look at the crazy world we live in and ask the question "how do we stay calm in the midst of the craziness?"
The great news for us is that Jesus has a plan for how to stay calm. So once we discover and start living out this plan then when crisis and chaos comes along others can C U Calm...

Jeff mentioned in the study some interesting things about the way weather factors into the plans of military powers worldwide and how weather research and control is an ongoing issue worthy of study
Beijing To Shoot Down Olympic Rain www.cnn.com/2006/WORLD/asiapcf/06/05/china.rain/index.html
The late author Michael Crichton created a stir with his book State of Fear. Here is what he said and some research he used in tackling the controversial topic of global warming...aka the weather.

HEROES HEROES is the theme that was used for the 2004 CCC Birthday event. In this web/worship event we attempt to discover the need, the call, and the emergence of heroes in the world we live in.
You are a hero in the making!
With any themed worship event at CCC there is much to see, usually a storyline that helps to create an immersive worship experience.
The way this event ties into what we talked about during the Crazy University study is that in the parable we created for this event the villain had figured out a way to control of all things...the weather!
So the lessons are fun and you discover that You are a hero....
Session Two CU Constructive (1 Corinthians 12 & 13)
CU Constructive - Crazy University Week 2 It is so easy in the crazy world we live in to throw up our hands, whine about how tough it is, and mope over how difficult and depressing life can be. Not only is that easy to do but you can usually find others who will join you in your misery...well, because after all...misery loves miserable company.
But in the middle of the mess around you is it possible to be an agent of change? Is it possible that you might be a person who is known as one who builds things up instead of tearing them down? Does the call of Christ call us to be constructive or destructive in the crazy world we live in?
When others see you do they C U Constructive?
The call to follow Jesus gives us some resources that we are to use to build the kingdom around us. His Love and His Gifts are given freely to us and they allow us to build. Get ready to discover how God wants to use you to build His kingdom in an out of control world.

Jeff mentioned in the study the atheist bus campaign that has taken place globally. Below you will find a huge resource for discovering evidence for God.
There are a number of websites that offer help in responding to or understanding how to respond to criticism from atheists over the existence of God. This is a link for more info, however note that CCC Ministries is simply linking you to the site, it is not responsible for the content on it. You need to discern and process it as you read it

Session Three CU Challenged (2 Peter 1)
CU Challenged - Crazy University Week 3 Here we are again for another course at Crazy University! This is the lifelong learning school where we are discovering ways to navigate the sometimes and often craziness of the world we live in. So far we have looked at how we stay CALM and CONSTRUCTIVE in the midst of the craziness. Today we examine a new topic...we ask if people C U Challenged?
Now it is true that life can be challenging...no doubt about it. But that is not what we are talking about. We are asking if you approach life as a challenge, are you tackling the challenge of living the life that God has created you to live in ways that honor Him, when people look at you as you live do they CU Challenged?
In the same way we face life in calm and constructive ways, we can also face life as a challenge and let that challenge bring out the best in us.
To get there and to face the challenge we must be diligent. When you are diligent you are : Thorough, attentive, industrious, persistent, and tireless. So this week we discover how to be all of those things as we tackle the amazing challenge of living life to the fullest for the Savior!

Jeff mentioned the world's largest ball of twine. Although it is an odd story it is extremely interesting. Read on for more
Twine Ball Francis A. Johnson was a quiet man who spent his entire life in Meeker County. For reasons that are lost to time, he began rolling a ball of twine in 1950. Francis rolled twine four hours a day, every day. He lifted it with a crane to continue proper wrapping. For 39 years, this magnificent sphere evolved at Johnson's farm, and eventually moved to a circular open air shed on his front lawn.
See pictures and the rest of the story http://www.roadsideamerica.com/story/2128
Perhaps you want to buy a twineball museum shirt, hat, or some sort of item to give as a gift. The by all means you need visit the Twineball Museum Official Website http://www.darwintwineball.com/store.html
And of course...there is the amazing footage of Janey Cutler
In the birthplace of singing sensation Susan Boyle – once again Scotland proved surprising on Britain’s Got Talent!
Check out 80 year old – yep 80 – Janey Cutler with her rendition of the Edith Piaf song, No Regrets. We don’t see a Susan Boyle style future in store for her (but she’s got a big voice) however it is still a pretty cool moment!

Session Five CU Connected (Hebrews 11)
The world is crazy...without a doubt! The great news for each of us is that Jesus knows how confusing and out of control life can be. That is one of the reasons that He has designed us for community. So in this edition of the Crazy University series we explore whether or not people CU CONNECTED...and you get to decide for yourself if you are connected in the right way so that life becomes what He intended for it to be!

Session Six CU Centered (Hebrews 11)
If we are going to live courageous lives in this crazy world then we must be CALM, CONSTRUCTIVE, CHALLENGED, CONNECTED and CENTERED. As a matter of fact being centered is what this installment of Crazy University is all about.
Most people spend the bulk of their lives off center We are focused on what we don't have...and miss out on what we do have.
We allow our circumstances to define us and we end up mad, mean, and missing the joy that could be found in what we have around us.

Jeff also spoke about a recent trip he was on that took him to Philadelphia. While he was there he charged up the famous Rocky Steps at the Philadelphia Museum of Art. To read more about that you might want to spend a few moments reading 'Up The Steps" a Drive Thru article where Jeff goes into more detail
Thousands of people face the challenge of the steps each year and for each it means something different. For some it is just the fun of recreating a movie moment. But for others, the Rocky Steps are symbolic of their lives.

Session Seven CU Confident (2 Timothy 4:1-2)
How do you face the future? You don't have a choice in whether or not you face it. We all face the future because time is always marching onward. But what we really are wanting to know is how do you face it?
Are you fearful, unsteady, and concerned? Or are you sure, confident, and strongly facing what lies ahead?
In a crazy world you can face the future with confidence. Really, you can! In this session of Crazy University we discover how that can happen in our lives.
