Fearless
Posted by Rev. Jeff Dixon, Senior Equipping Minister, Covenant Community Church on Nov 1, 2009, 05:46

Fear never wrote a symphony or poem, negotiated a peace treaty,
or cured a disease.
Fear never pulled a family out of poverty,
fear never saved a relationship, and fear never saves a business.

Courage does those things. Faith does that.
Followers who refuse to consult or cower to timidity do that.
But
fear itself? Fear herds into prison and slams the doors.

Ready to live a life of dreams with a clear focus on Jesus?
You can!

It is time to imagine a life without fear.

It is time to become
FEARLESS!

Can you imagine a life without fear?
Join us at CCC for this series on Fearless Living!

Insignificant Fears
Fearing we are insignificant
Psalm 139

Insignificant Fear: Fearing we are insignificant
Do we matter?
We hope we do, we have heard that we do, people who like us tell us we do...however, somewhere deep within us is a nagging nugget of doubt that leaves unsettled and often doing some very silly things in order to prove our worth.

Our value has to come from a source that is able to give and bestow value. If we strive to find our value from anyone or anyplace else we end up feeling hollow and unfulfilled.

This Celebration worship experience tackles this fear head on and reminds us all that we do matter, we have value, and we have worth.

 Now What?
As you follow up this study make the prayer of your life this week something similiar to, "Lord, Help me find my value and worth in and through you today."

If you are willing to pray that prayer then here are three questions that might be helpful to you

Read the passage we used Psalm 139:14-18 and
verses 23-24

Q1- How does God think about you?
Q2- What kind of thoughts does God have about you?

Q3- How does what you read in verses 14-28 give you confidence to pray the same thing the psalmist prays in verses 23-24?

Monsters in the Closet
Fear of the worst case

2 Timothy 4:14-18

Monsters in the Closet: Fear of the Worst Case
You have heard the phrase "what is the worst case scenario?" It strikes terror in our hearts because none of us want to have to live out the worst case scenario.

Still in the journey of life hard times come along. So what do you do? What do you need to remember? How do you face the worst case moments?

If you are looking for some magical formula to eliminate the worst case scenarios then this is not the celebration worship experience for you. Because the Bible doesn't exempt you from tough times. But if you are looking for some real anchors to hold on to when times are tough then this is a time of worship that you just don't want to miss!

Caffeinated Living
Fearing whatever comes next
John 14

Caffeinated Living: Fearing whatever comes next

Wouldn't it be great if we could order up life the way we order coffee at our favorite coffee shop?
We could mix and match the ingredients of our life into just the right blend. Our future would be settled, we could be warm and cozy, and the coffee temperature of our life wouldn't be too hot or too cold...it would be just right! Sounds good doesn't it?

However we all know life doesn't work that way. We don't get too much say in the way things unfold (although we spend a lot of our energy trying to control our lives) and sometimes life goes a bit of track. Changes come and catch us unprepared and before we know it we are living life in real time and we feel like it is way out of control. We are fearful of what might happen next and we wonder where God is in the midst of it all.

There are a number of fears that can immobilize us. Some of us live our lives ruled by fear. Yet there is one fear that we find that is healthy, helpful, and hopeful. So if you are ready for a whole lot of Healthy Terror then you will want to join us for this celebration worship experience!
