We want to make an impact...no doubt But the world outside the church doesn't think too highly of those inside the church. This is something that we must learn to deal with in honesty, integrity, and an effective strategy.
That is the backdrop of this study...learning to navigate the culture in real visible, vibrant, and vital ways.
Week 1 - 8/16/06 - A Follower from two points of view!
In this session we define what a follower of Jesus looks like from an "inside" perspective and an "outside" perspective. This allows us to see why it is difficult at times to make an impact.
Our study then moves into the early stages of examing the factors that have allowed the culture to put so much distance between themselves and the church today.
Week 2 - 8/23/06 - Moving On . . . Let's loose some sacred cows!
In this session we take a look at an often overlooked mover and shaker for God. The Bible describes him as one who did what was pleasing in the sight of the Lord. That is a fantastic description. As we see what he did that was so pleasing we then become free to explore what we must do to reach the world and our culture for Christ.
We then take the time and look at some more of the reasons that the culture has moved on and viewed the church in America today as "insignificant"
The more we understand the better equipped we will be to accellerate to not only catch up with the culture but get in front of it!
Week 3 - 9/6/06 - 4 Questions to Change Your Life
This is the final session of this series which was shortened by the tropical storm that came along right in the midst of the series. Still in our final session we explore four extremely insightful questions that will help you discover how to live life in such a way as to impact the world around you with the love of Jesus.
If you are willing to be honest, then this might be the very study that can get you on course and moving in the right direction.
