Here are a few shots of where the Paint the Town "Away Team" did their work in NYC.

This is Author's Academy located in the Bronx. 1260 Franklin Ave. became the destination each and every morning for the "Away Team" In order to get there the team would leave Downtown and ride 3 subways and jump aboard 1 Metro bus to be on site close to 8:00am each day.

P.S. 63 is an elementary school where the staff is trying to find creative ways to connect with and educate the children that
attend there.

Our team arrived in the middle of an ongoing construction project at the school. We had to work around teams remodeling while we prepared each room for painting.

The fresh coat of paint was designed to brighten up and repair the school facility which over time had become run-down and badly in need of an overhaul.

Lisa Wright was willing to climb to the roof line and do the trim work before the rest of the team followed painting both a primer coat as well as a finishing coat.

Our team worked quickly and the only break happened at lunch team each day. Marge and B.J. Crain are seen here enjoying those few moments of leisure before the paint started
to fly again.

When the paint dried the rooms had fresh coats of white paint and the the project manager said our team was "the best he had worked with." We were told that we worked quickly, cleanly, and accomplished more in a short amount of time than most teams that had been on-site.

The idea was to respond to a need that allows the church to impact the culture. This was accomplished. Along the way the "away team" met with school adminstrators, construction crews, foremen of the construction project, and others who were there to paint. We painted walls in rooms, we painted the foyer and entrance to the school....all so we could touch and change the world with the love of Jesus...this time we used a paint brush to do so.

When we were finished we were ready to come home. The "Away Team" for Paint the Town in the Bronx is picture here.
